Jeff is a self-described refugee of Chicago now living in California. A former newspaper and magazine reporter, Jeff loves writing about baseball through the lens of his favorite hometown team. The first time he wrote about the Cubs came as a child in 1980 when he mailed off-season suggestions to Cubs general manager Bob Kennedy. Suffice it to say, not among these was trading Bruce Sutter to the Cardinals for just Ken Reitz, Leon Durham and Ty Waller in return.

Jeff has been a regular contributor to Cubs Insider since April 2018. He likes to write about compelling, special interest topics like defensive fundamentals at shortstop, exclusive interviews with the likes of David Ross, and going inside how the Iowa Cubs put their circus on the road.
