Adbert Alzolay hasn’t pitched this season due to a right shoulder issue, but he’s been rehabbing for a while now and is expected to rejoin the Cubs this weekend as they host the Rockies. David Ross said Alzolay will be used out of the bullpen, something we saw last September and at times during 2019 and ’20. Given the way his fastball plays up in shorter outings, a relief role might allow Alzolay to pitch at his best more frequently.

Now we just need to wait for the inevitable injury to another member of the pitching staff, though I suppose the Cubs could go against type and DFA another pitcher.
