Why the Cubs Won
The Cubs scored six early runs to establish a lead they never surrendered.
Ian Happ ripped a three-run double off of J.B. Wendelken in the 4th inning to give Chicago a 5-1 lead.
Stats That Matter
- Zach Davies had a lot of traffic on the bases, but pitched around it: 4 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 2 K, and 3 BB.
- Anthony Rizzo had two singles, a double, and two runs knocked in.
- Willson Contreras hit a laser-beam home run in the 2nd inning.
The offense looks ready and so does Davies. Less than two weeks until the games that count.
The Cubs welcome the Rockies to Sloan Park at 3:05pm CT Saturday with Marquee Sports Network on the broadcast.
