Chicago Dogs Selling Tickets to 30 Home Games at Rosemont’s Impact Field

After initially planning to play their home games in Franklin, WI, the independent Chicago Dogs have announced that they have pivoted back to playing at Impact Field in Rosemont. This change followed governor JB Pritzker’s announcement that Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois initiative includes allowing outdoor venues to operate at 20% capacity with restricted concessions.

Opened in 2018, the 6,300-seat venue is located just east of O’Hare and is surrounded by loads of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues. There’s also a parking garage right there. Like, right there. Whether or not 1,200 people will turn out for the Dogs’ 30 scheduled home games isn’t certain, but the team is pretty pumped.

“We’re thrilled to be playing baseball, and especially in front of our fans at Impact Field,” Chicago Dogs Owner Shawn Hunter said in a statement released Wednesday. “This positive news will help all of us kick off the summer celebration.”

The Dogs’ first game is on Friday, July 3 in Franklin, then Impact Field’s gates will open on Tuesday, July 7 at 7:05pm CT for a three-game homestand with the Milwaukee Milkmen. Tickets are available now by calling the Chicago Dogs at 847-636-5450 and the team will keep fans updated through their website and various social media platforms.

While the logistics are quite a bit different at Wrigley Field, I’d be shocked if the Cubs weren’t working on ways to get several thousand fans into the ballpark once their season starts back up.
