Seven Cubs Advance to Next Round of All-Star Voting

MLB changed up the voting for the All-Star Game this year and seven Cubs have advanced to the “starter election” round. The preliminary round of voting narrowed the field to the top three vote-getters at each position, or six in the outfield. For a more detailed primer on the new voting rules, visit this handy link.

As you might imagine, the Cubs are pretty well represented here, putting seven players through to the next round. Willson Contreras (C), Anthony Rizzo (1B), Kris Bryant (3B), Javy Báez (SS), Kyle Schwarber (OF), Albert Almora (OF), and Jason Heyward (OF) all have the chance to earn starting roles.

Voting for the starters  begins on Wednesday, June 26 at Noon ET and runs through Thursday, June 27 at 4pm EST.
