Watch: Kyle Schwarber Hits Towering Three-Run Home Run in Colorado
Cole Hamels escaped a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the first inning to keep Wednesday’s game scoreless, and the Cubs offense (Cole included) rewarded him in the top half of the second inning. All told, the Cubs tallied five hits in the second inning, with the big blow coming off the bat of Kyle Schwarber. Schwarbs launched his 14th home run of the season, this of the three-run variety, to put the Cubs up 5-0 in the finale with the Rockies.
