No specific reasons for Bosio’s termination were given by the front office, but it’s clear from all the rhetoric that the team wanted to move in a different direction.
Many Cubs pitcher experienced velocity and command issues throughout 2017. Coupled with the imminent arrival of several young arms, it makes sense that the 2016 World Series champs would want to adopt a different approach.
