Watch: Kyle Schwarber Demolishes Home Run to Center
Sent to Iowa to find himself as a hitter and start spraying the ball to all parts of the park, Kyle Schwarber came back a little faster than many would have liked. It’ll be a while before we can make any official pronouncements, but Saturday sure looked good. After slapping a single to left in his first at-bat, War Bear was on deck when Ian Happ put the Cubs on the board with a solo shot.
After congratulating the rookie on his dinger, Schwarber asked Happ to hold his beer as he stepped up for the second time. Then he vaporized a 1-0 high fastball to center that Andrew McCutchen gave up on before he’d really even started. Brew was still frosty when he got back to the dugout.
