Revisiting Glory: Watch Addison Russell Crush Grand Slam in World Series Game 6 (Fan Video)

We all know the drill, right? The Cubs, after being down in the 2016 World Series three games to one, beat the menacing Indians in Game 5 and pushed the series back to Cleveland. Waiting there for the Cubs and their fans were some strange sights.

The Cubs were up by a score of 3-0 heading into the top of the 3rd inning. Josh Tomlin, on the ropes early after throwing 22 pitches in the 1st, had sprung back to ace the 2nd on eight pitches. The magic wouldn’t last long, though, as he was given the hook after allowing a single to Ben Zobrist to load the bases on his 48th pitch.

Enter Dan Otero.

Addison Russell stepped to the plate and you could just feel that something special was about to happen. And boy did it. To say it was exciting would be a mild understatement.

Of course, the Cubs won the game 9-3. In case you’ve forgotten the rest of the details, click here for the full rundown.
