The Cubs staged an incredible rally on Tuesday evening to stun the Giants and knock them out of the playoffs. The scene will be replayed over and over again throughout Cubs history. It was a huge moment in what is, arguably, the most beloved franchise in all of baseball. Here’s highlights of the ninth inning rally.
First, it was Ben Zobrist lacing a double down the right field line to score Kris Bryant.
Next, it was Willson Contreras singling to drive in Anthony Rizzo and Ben Zobrist to tie the game 5-5.
And doesn’t it just make sense that Javier Baez, who made such a huge impact in this series, would get the game winning hit?
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Aroldis Chapman came in and did what Aroldis Chapman does – he slammed the door and the party began.
