Chicago Cubs Lineup – Sept 30, 2016: Bullpen Day Part 2, Buchanan Backed by Regulars

Jake Buchanan will be making his first career start for the Chicago Cubs (101-57) today as they line up against the Cincinnati Reds (67-92). It’s the second bullpen day in a row for the Cubs and the game is sure to have a spring training feel to it. Buchanan has only pitched in one game so far this season for the Cubs, in relief. Don’t expect him to go much beyond the 2nd or maybe 3rd inning.

While Joe is lining up the starting pitchers for the playoffs he’ll be starting the regulars on offense. Chris Coghlan, who’s been as hot as any Cubs player lately, is starting in left field. Jorge Soler has been sidelined with a sore right side so it will be intriguing to see if Joe goes with the hot bat – Coghlan – or Soler once the playoffs kick off in one week.

Here’s tonight’s Chicago Cubs lineup.
