Chicago Cubs Lineup: Lackey Goes For the Sweep, Russell Rests, Baez at Shortstop
The Chicago Cubs (65-41) close out the three game set against the Miami Marlins (57-50) today and will be going for the series sweep, something they haven’t done since the end of June against a deficient Cincinnati Reds team.
John Lackey (8-7, 3.69 ERA) will take the ball today for the Cubs as he seeks to build upon his last outing in which he pitched six innings of four hit baseball and allowed only one run on his way to the win over Chris Sale and the Chicago White Sox.
Javier Baez will be manning the shortstop position today as he gives Addison Russell some rest.
