Cubs Clips: Watch Dan Vogelbach Blast a Grand Slam in Iowa Yesterday

Dan Vogelbach is the Cubs’ power hitting first base prospect that currently plays in AAA Iowa. He is ranked as the Cubs number 20 prospect. Yesterday in Iowa Dan crushed a sixth inning grand slam to lead the I-Cubs to an 8-4 win. Dan finished 3-for-5 on the day with five RBIs, which is currently good enough for fifth in the Pacific Coast League.

Last year Dan slashed .272/.403/.425 in his first full year at AA Tennessee since being signed by the Cubs in August 2011. This year, in his first season at the AAA-level, he’s hitting an impressive .354/.446/.532 in 79 at-bats for the Iowa Cubs. He’s got an explosive bat and is going to be a fun guy to watch progress.
