Chicago Cubs Lineup: Cubs Open Series Against Braves, Bryant Out
The Cubs look to keep their three-game winning streak alive as they meet the Atlanta Braves today at Wrigley Field at 1:20 PM CDT. The Cubs have broken out to a 16-5 start while the Braves have started 5-17, the inverse of each other at this point in the season.
Kris Bryant was diagnosed earlier this morning with a mild sprain to his right ankle and he isn’t playing in this game. He may miss the entire series, but that remains to be seen. The Cubs travel to Pittsburgh on Monday to play a three-game series against the Pirates. They return home after that series to square off in what is sure to be a much hyped series against the Nationals. Having Kris in the lineup for those series looks to be more important than rushing him back for this Braves series. Javier Baez is in at third base today.
Jon Lester will take the mound for the Cubs as he looks to improve upon his 2-1 start.
