Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (3/3/25): Dbacks 10, Cubs 2 – PCA Scratched with Hamstring Tightness, Cubs Drop Second Straight
The Cubs dropped their second consecutive game on Monday afternoon, losing to the Diamondbacks at Salt River Fields. They fell behind early and could never recover, suffering a lopsided defeat for the first time this spring.
Lowlights
- Pete Crow-Armstrong was scratched from the lineup with hamstring tightness, which the Cubs have said was precautionary. Let’s hope so.
- Caleb Kilian continues to give up hard hits, but the upside is that he did have five strikeouts (video below).
- Tyson Miller has also not faired well this Spring: 0.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 K
- Cubs’ pitchers gave up six doubles and two home runs.
- Kyle Tucker finished 0-3 with three strikeouts.
On the Bright Side
- Gage Workman continues to have a productive Spring: 2-for-3, 1 RBI, 2B
- Nicky Lopez is playing well, although it’s hard to imagine there’s a place for him on the 26-man roster: 2-for-3, 1 R, 2B
Bottom Line
Spring Training is going to Spring Training sometimes. That happened today. (Box Score)
On Deck
