Cubs Placing Ben Brown on IL with Neck Strain, Colten Brewer Activated
As if the Cubs haven’t already battled through too many injuries this season, now they’re losing Ben Brown. The big righty has been battling a neck strain for the last several weeks and is heading back to Chicago to have some tests run. Let’s hope it’s all just precautionary.
Colten Brewer has been activated from the IL (low back strain) to take Brown’s spot on the staff and we can assume that Jordan Wicks will slide back into the rotation. Brewer has pitched 11.2 innings over seven appearances and has a 3.09 ERA with 12 strikeouts and four walks.
More on Brown as it becomes available.
