Hoerner Has Fractured Hand, Cubs Have Not Made IL Determination Yet

Nico Hoerner has a small fracture in his right hand from being hit by a pitch during Thursday’s series opener. After consulting with doctors, the hope right now is that he’ll be able to play through it once pain and swelling subsides. That may take a few days, so in true Cubs fashion they will play shorthanded, literally, before making a decision on an IL stint.
