Nico Hoerner Sits, Will Undergo Additional Tests Following ‘Somewhat Inconclusive’ X-rays on Hand
Nico Hoerner is out of the lineup for the Cubs’ Friday game in Cincinnati after being hit on the right hand by a pitch in Thursday’s series opener. He remained in the game but was still feeling ill effects from the HBP and had his hand x-rayed. Craig Counsell told reporters that the initial results were “somewhat inconclusive” and said the second baseman will undergo additional imaging to determine the severity of the issue.
While it could end up being nothing, it’s not a great sign when you have to have more tests done, especially given the situation at hand. Get it? Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
