Cubs Activate Jordan Wicks, Option Porter Hodge
Jordan Wicks has been activated and will be available out of the bullpen Friday against the Reds.
“We don’t have a rotation need right now,” Craig Counsell told reporters. “If one comes up he’s obviously a big candidate for it.”

The Chicago Cubs today activated left-handed pitcher Jordan Wicks from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-handed pitcher Porter Hodge to Triple-A Iowa.
Wicks, 24, was placed on the injured list April 25 with a left forearm strain. Prior to his stint on the I.L., he posted a 4.70 ERA (12 ER/23.0 IP) with one quality start and 10.96 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched in five starts this season.
Hodge, 23, made his MLB debut May 22 against Atlanta and held the opponent scoreless in five of his six outings, all of which were in relief.
The Cubs play Cincinnati today at 6:10 p.m. CT at Great American Ball Park, a game that can be seen on Marquee Sports Network and heard on 670 the Score.
