Ryne Sandberg Reports ‘No Detection of Cancer’ in Latest Scans
Ryne Sandberg announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer, the survival rates for which aren’t the greatest. But his latest update is very optimistic, as he noted Tuesday afternoon that there was “no detection of cancer” in a recent PET scan and MRI. He has just finished chemotherapy treatments and will be undergoing several weeks of radiation because he was initially told his cancer was incurable.
The goal was to keep the disease at a minimum, which is now the case, but Ryno is continuing forward aggressively to “win the battle.” He’s been very transparent about his battle on Instagram, describing the highs and lows of his symptoms and energy levels as he aims to have as many “semi normal good days” as possible.
