Cubs Sign Pedro Strop to Minors Deal with Spring Training Invite
Pedro Strop will be among the pitchers reporting to camp Wednesday as the Cubs have agreed to a minor league deal with one of the best relievers in franchise history. The righty can earn $800,000 if he’s able to earn a roster spot, which is entirely possible if he’s healthy. The bullpen is somewhat in flux due to injuries and uncertainty, so a veteran presence might be just what they need.

Strop rejoined the Cubs last season on a minors deal and was close to making his way back up to Chicago, but was shut down in South Bend due to injury. More on this to come.
